Maharashtra Voter List Deadline Extended to 26 October

Maharashtra voter list deadline notice and electoral roll registration documents

The Maharashtra voter list deadline for filing claims and objections has been extended to 26 October, giving eligible citizens more time to add their names, correct personal details or raise objections to entries in the draft electoral rolls. The final voter list will still be published on 16 November, according to information released by the Election Commission and the Maharashtra Chief Electoral Officer’s office.

The extension applies to the special summary revision process being conducted with 1 October as the qualifying date. The draft electoral rolls for Maharashtra were published on 31 August 2026, and the period for submitting claims and objections has now been extended from that date to 26 October.

Election authorities will continue issuing notices and processing the claims and objections received between 31 August and 10 November. The exercise covers additions, deletions and corrections in voter records across the state’s Assembly constituencies.

The Chief Electoral Officer’s office has asked eligible citizens, including first-time voters, to use the additional time to check their details in the electoral roll. Applications can be submitted to add a new name, correct errors in spelling, address or age, and file claims or objections concerning entries in the list.

The extension follows a series of voter-registration and verification measures undertaken across Maharashtra. The authorities conducted special camps at 1,53,000 polling stations on 3, 4, 10 and 11 October to make registration and verification easier. A separate enrolment drive for young people and first-time voters was conducted at colleges and universities across the state from 5 to 9 October.

The electoral-roll revision process is being implemented through a statewide administrative network that includes 1,53,000 Booth Level Officers, 7,100 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, 288 Electoral Registration Officers and 36 District Election Officers. Citizens with registration-related questions or complaints can approach these officials.

The Chief Electoral Officer’s office said the process is intended to ensure that no eligible citizen is left out of the electoral roll and that the list remains free of errors. The final Maharashtra electoral roll is scheduled to be released on 16 November 2026 after the claims and objections received during the extended period have been examined and disposed of.
