Maharashtra Gets 72 MW Solar Push Under ₹236-Crore EPC Order

Maharashtra solar projects with ground-mounted panels supporting agricultural solarisation

Truzon Clean Energies has secured a ₹236-crore engineering, procurement and construction order from Hariom Power & Energy for 72 MW of ground-mounted solar projects across Maharashtra, with the installations being developed under PM-KUSUM Component C to support agricultural solarisation.

The projects will be spread across Hingoli, Latur, Parbhani and Beed districts. Truzon, formerly known as Suntek Energy Systems, said 15 MW of the total capacity has already been executed. The company will undertake turnkey delivery, covering design, engineering, procurement, construction, installation, testing and commissioning.

According to the company release cited by Deccan Chronicle, the projects are expected to generate around 89.89 million units of electricity annually. The projected generation remains subject to final specifications and operating conditions, the report said.

PM-KUSUM Component C focuses on the solarisation of agricultural electricity supply. Ground-mounted solar projects under the component can support the supply of renewable power for agricultural consumers, while also connecting energy generation more closely to rural distribution infrastructure. The announcement places the four Maharashtra districts within a wider effort to expand decentralised and utility-scale renewable capacity linked to farming.

The order is also significant for the scale of the execution package. At 72 MW, the planned capacity spans multiple districts rather than a single project site, requiring coordinated land, grid, procurement, construction and commissioning activity. The company’s stated scope means Truzon will be responsible for the project chain from initial engineering and equipment procurement through final testing and commissioning.

The annual generation estimate of 89.89 million units provides an indication of the expected electricity output once the projects are operational. However, the final output will depend on the specifications adopted for the projects and their operating conditions, according to the report. The source material does not provide a commissioning schedule, project-wise capacity split or details of the electricity distribution arrangements.

Headquartered in Hyderabad, Truzon said it has delivered more than 400 MW of solar capacity and completed over 15,000 installations across residential, commercial, industrial and utility-scale segments. The Maharashtra order expands its work in the utility-scale and agricultural solarisation segments.

The immediate implementation milestone is the completion and commissioning of the remaining capacity across Hingoli, Latur, Parbhani and Beed. Further project specifications, timelines and operating details were not disclosed in the report.
