Mahabubabad ACB Searches Civil Supplies Manager’s Office, Home

Mahabubabad ACB searches at a district civil supplies office in Telangana

The Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted simultaneous searches at the office and residence of Mahabubabad district civil supplies manager Vasamsetti Narasimha Rao on Friday following allegations that he had accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, according to a report by Deccan Chronicle.

A team led by Khammam ACB Deputy Superintendent of Police Y. Ramesh searched the civil supplies department office located at the Mahabubabad district collectorate. Officials examined files in Rao’s cabin and other records maintained at the office, the report said.

A second ACB team reportedly searched Rao’s residence in Khammam. The searches covered both the official’s workplace and home, indicating that investigators were examining records held within the department as well as property or financial material connected to the allegations.

The civil supplies department is involved in the administration of essential commodities and related public distribution functions. Searches involving a district-level manager therefore place the focus not only on the individual allegations but also on the records and administrative processes handled by the department. The available report, however, does not identify any specific file, transaction or supply-related decision connected to the case.

Details of documents, property records or other material seized during the searches were not immediately available. It was also unclear from the report whether the operation had yielded evidence supporting the allegations against Rao. The searches themselves do not establish that the allegations have been proven.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau had not released an official statement detailing the operation at the time of reporting. As a result, information about the scope of the searches, the sections invoked, the value or nature of any assets under examination and the next steps in the case remains unavailable.

The searches come amid the routine scrutiny of public officials whose assets are alleged to exceed their known lawful sources of income. Any further findings, including details of records examined or material seized, would need to be established through the ACB’s official communication or subsequent legal proceedings. The immediate next step is expected to depend on the bureau’s investigation and any formal statement or case documentation it issues.
