The Hyderabad Traffic Police will impose traffic restrictions and diversions around IDL Lake in Kukatpally on October 18 during Bathukamma festival celebrations, affecting commuters travelling towards Kukatpally Y-Junction between 5 pm and 11 pm.
The Kukatpally traffic advisory covers vehicles approaching the junction from Hitec City, Madhapur and Hafeezpet. The traffic police have asked commuters to plan their journeys in advance and cooperate with personnel deployed in the area to maintain smooth traffic movement during the festivities.
According to the advisory, traffic from Hitec City, Madhapur and Hafeezpet towards Kukatpally Y-Junction will be diverted through Lucky Restaurant Signal, KPHB 4th Phase and Road No. 1. Vehicles will then proceed towards the Remedy Hospital U-turn before reaching Kukatpally Y-Junction.
An alternative route will also be available through Rainbow Vista, Anjaiah Nagar X Road, Moosapet and Vasundhara Hospital. Commuters approaching Kukatpally Y-Junction from the affected areas can use this route during the restriction period.
The restrictions have been announced in view of Bathukamma celebrations around IDL Lake, where increased activity is expected during the evening hours. The designated diversions are intended to redirect traffic away from the event area and help manage movement towards the junction while the celebrations are under way.
The affected window will begin at 5 pm and continue until 11 pm on October 18. Commuters travelling through the Hitec City–Madhapur–Hafeezpet corridor towards Kukatpally have been advised to account for the diversions while planning their journeys. The Hyderabad Traffic Police’s advisory remains in force for the stated period and route changes.
