KONE has inaugurated its first Digital Experience Centre in Pune, bringing together artificial intelligence, connectivity and data-driven tools aimed at improving how elevators, escalators and building services are designed, managed and maintained across their lifecycle.
The centre, opened on Friday, is intended to give customers a first-hand view of KONE’s digital capabilities for People Flow and smart buildings, the company said in a release. It brings together KONE’s business, technology and engineering expertise in a single facility.
Customers visiting the centre can interact with digital tools covering design and configuration, product experiences, digital interfaces, customer lifecycle visibility and real-time service insights. The demonstrations are designed to show how connected systems can support decision-making, improve transparency and enable more proactive service management.
For building owners and operators, the focus is on extending digital visibility beyond the installation of an elevator or escalator. The company said the centre allows customers to explore how technology, data and artificial intelligence can create value at different stages of a building’s lifecycle. The available information does not specify the number of systems or customers expected to be covered through the facility.
Philippe Delorme, President and CEO of KONE, described the facility as the first of its kind in the elevator and escalator industry in India. “The Centre gives our customers an opportunity to experience how digitalisation, connectivity and AI are shaping the future of People Flow,” he said.
Delorme added that India was an important market for KONE and that the centre would bring innovation closer to its customers. The company’s reference to People Flow covers the movement of people within buildings, an area in which elevator and escalator performance is closely linked to daily building operations.
Amit Gossain, Managing Director of KONE India, said the centre would give customers a first-hand view of how digital technologies could create value across the building lifecycle. The company has not disclosed the centre’s investment, staffing or operational capacity in the material available.
The Pune facility places digitalisation alongside KONE’s conventional elevator and escalator business, reflecting the growing role of connected equipment and service data in building management. Its stated purpose is to demonstrate these capabilities to customers rather than announce a new public transport or municipal infrastructure project.
KONE said the centre is now part of its customer engagement and technology showcase activities in India. Further details on projects, deployments or measurable service outcomes linked to the facility were not provided in the company release.
