Karimnagar Bathukamma arrangements have been completed at 28 locations ahead of Saddula Bathukamma, the final day of Telangana’s nine-day women’s festival, with the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation spending ₹3 crore on venue and immersion-point facilities.
Municipal corporations, municipalities and gram panchayats across the erstwhile Karimnagar district have prepared celebration venues with cleaning, electricity, lighting, drinking water and generator facilities. Barricades have also been installed at Bathukamma immersion points, while professional swimmers have been deployed as a safety measure.
The Karimnagar Municipal Corporation has made arrangements at 28 locations. Karimnagar Mayor Kolagani Srinivas and Deputy Mayor Y. Sunil Rao inspected immersion points at Kothapalli and Gandlakunta as part of the preparations.
The mayor said drinking water, lighting and sound systems had been arranged at every celebration venue. The deployment of barricades and professional swimmers is intended to reduce risks during immersion activities, which draw participants to water-access points at the close of the festival.
The arrangements place municipal services at the centre of a celebration that combines public gatherings, temporary venue infrastructure and immersion-related crowd management. Cleaning the grounds and providing electricity, lighting and drinking water are among the basic services being coordinated at venues across the district.
Flower markets in Karimnagar have also reported a rush as residents purchase the flowers used to prepare Bathukamma arrangements. These include Gunugu, Thangedu, Sitamma Jada, Gummadi, Banthi and Chamanthi flowers.
The preparations cover both the main celebration venues and the points where Bathukammas will be immersed. Municipal and local authorities are responsible for maintaining the listed facilities and safety arrangements during the celebrations scheduled for Sunday.
