Senior officials in the urban development and housing department are understood to be examining the proposal before seeking clearance from the Union road transport ministry. The request follows concerns that the Jaipur Northern Ring Road project, despite being identified as a strategic infrastructure link, has faced prolonged implementation delays over several years.

The corridor is designed to function as an outer traffic bypass for Jaipur, diverting long-distance and freight movement away from the city’s core road network.
