IndianOils Green Hydrogen Plant to Transform Panipats Energy Landscape

IndianOil Corporation has announced plans to establish India’s largest green hydrogen production facility at its Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex.

The plant, with an annual capacity of 10,000 tonnes, is slated for commissioning by December 2027. This initiative marks IndianOil’s entry into the green hydrogen sector, aligning with the government’s National Green Hydrogen Mission and the company’s broader decarbonisation strategy.

The green hydrogen produced at this facility will replace fossil-derived hydrogen currently used in refinery operations, leading to substantial reductions in carbon emissions.  The project has garnered attention from major industry players. L&T Energy Green Tech has secured the tender to construct the facility, highlighting the project’s significance in India’s clean energy transition. The plant’s development underscores IndianOil’s commitment to leading the nation’s shift towards a cleaner and greener energy future.

The establishment of this green hydrogen plant is expected to bolster India’s green energy mission, contributing to a sustainable and carbon-neutral future. With this landmark project, IndianOil further strengthens its leadership in the country’s energy transformation journey.
