Transport officials and infrastructure planners say the emerging road network could transform regional mobility patterns by creating a largely signal-free route that bypasses some of the most traffic-stressed sections of the historic Grand Trunk Road. Faster travel times between NCR and Chandigarh may influence residential growth along emerging transit belts while also strengthening economic integration between industrial towns in Haryana and Punjab. <\/span>The project carries wider implications beyond passenger convenience. Freight operators have long faced delays on traditional highways passing through Panipat, Karnal and Ambala, where congestion and urban sprawl have steadily increased transport inefficiencies. Analysts tracking supply chains say dedicated high-speed corridors can lower fuel consumption and improve freight predictability, although long-term sustainability gains will depend on stronger public transport integration and land-use regulation around new expressway zones. <\/span>Officials monitoring the project said several stretches have regained momentum after weather-related disruptions slowed progress in earlier phases. <\/span><\/h4>\n
