The move centres on the development of dedicated CNG refuelling facilities at a new bus depot near Tambaram, where transport authorities are preparing to accommodate 120 additional low-emission buses over the coming months. Officials involved in the project indicated that the initiative is part of a broader operational transition aimed at reducing dependence on diesel-powered fleets across the metropolitan region.<\/span>At present, the city operates a relatively small number of CNG buses compared to its overall public transport fleet.
