Cloud cover persisted through the morning before strong winds and sharp rainfall activity intensified during the day, reducing daytime temperatures and improving outdoor conditions across residential and commercial areas. The cooler conditions were welcomed by commuters, street vendors and workers exposed to prolonged outdoor heat over the past week. <\/span>Weather observers linked the shift to a renewed western disturbance moving across north India, a system expected to influence regional conditions for the next few days. Meteorological records indicate that several rainy days recorded during April prevented the mercury from accelerating sharply during the early phase of summer. Even so, temperatures crossed the 40-degree Celsius mark in parts of the region by mid-April, signalling the likelihood of an intense heat season ahead. <\/span>Climate researchers say such oscillating weather events reinforce the need for stronger urban heat action plans, better stormwater management and more climate-responsive city infrastructure.
