Hyderabad ACB Finds Assets Valued at ₹10 Crore in Inspector Case

Hyderabad ACB assets case linked to searches at properties of a former police inspector

The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau has registered a disproportionate-assets case against Arkapally Anjaneyulu, a former inspector of Keesara police station under the Malkajgiri Commissionerate, after searches allegedly uncovered assets with an estimated market value of ₹10 crore.

ACB teams conducted simultaneous searches at six locations, including Anjaneyulu’s residence and office in Hyderabad, as well as properties linked to his relatives, associates and alleged benamis. The searches took place after Anjaneyulu was arrested in a separate bribery case and remanded to judicial custody.

According to the ACB, the searches produced documents relating to two 150-square-yard plots in Lingojiguda, Saroor Nagar. One of the plots has an old house. Investigators also found documents for a 240-square-yard house in CR Enclave, Mansoorabad, and an under-construction house at Perur village in Nalgonda.

The assets listed by the agency also include two acres of agricultural land at Haliya in Miryalguda, ₹7 lakh in cash, 60 tolas of gold ornaments, a Maruti Brezza car and household articles. An ACB official said the documentary value of the assets was ₹2.28 crore, while their estimated market value was about ₹10 crore.

The agency said it was continuing to verify whether Anjaneyulu had acquired assets beyond his known sources of income through corrupt practices. The case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. The ACB’s allegation is part of an ongoing investigation and has not been established through a final court finding.

Anjaneyulu was arrested on September 16 in connection with an allegation that he accepted ₹5 lakh out of an alleged ₹8 lakh bribe demand through sub-inspector D Gyanender Reddy. He is currently lodged at Chanchalguda Central Prison, according to the report.

The ACB is expected to produce Anjaneyulu before a court on a Prisoner Transit warrant. Further verification of the properties, financial records and other assets identified during the searches will determine the next stage of the investigation.
