Delhi Voter List Fix: How Shifted Residents Can Restore Their Names

Delhi voter list registration form being submitted at a polling station camp

Residents of Delhi whose names were removed from the voter list after they changed address during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) can apply again using Form 6, according to the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer’s office. Applicants must provide their new address and submit supporting documents.

The CEO office has uploaded the list of voters marked as absent, shifted, dead or duplicate—known as the ASDD list—on the Chief Electoral Officer, Delhi website. Residents have been advised to search the list and check whether their names appear in it. Those whose names were removed after shifting residence must submit Form 6 to seek fresh inclusion in the electoral roll.

Special voter camps are being held at polling stations across Delhi on October 9 and October 11. Residents can obtain Form 6 from Booth Level Officers at these camps, complete it with the required information and submit it along with supporting documents to the BLO. The CEO office said awareness efforts are also being carried out through BLOs to inform affected voters about the process.

Form 6 is used to register an eligible voter in the electoral roll. It requires details including the applicant’s name, date of birth, address and other relevant information. The form is prescribed under the Registration of Electors Rules, and applicants must provide documents related to their new address as required.

Applications can also be submitted online through the Voter Service Portal and the ECINet mobile application. The online process allows eligible residents to provide the information needed for registration without waiting for a physical camp, while the polling-station camps offer an in-person option for people who need assistance from election officials.

The drive also includes efforts to register residents who have recently turned 18. The Election Commission held special camps at colleges and universities in Delhi for the second consecutive day on Thursday. According to the CEO office, thousands of young people submitted Form 6 applications during the two-day exercise. These applications will be uploaded to the Election Commission’s portal for processing.

Eligible young applicants are expected to be included in the electoral roll scheduled for publication on December 4. For residents affected by an address change, the immediate step is to check the ASDD list and submit Form 6 with the new address and supporting documents through a BLO, the Voter Service Portal or the ECINet app.
