Delhi’s voter-list revision has entered its final phase, with 4,56,913 applications received from people seeking to add their names through Form 6 and officials urging eligible residents to apply by 30 October.

The applications were submitted during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll. According to officials cited in the report, 2,12,400 applications were received by 30 August, while another 2,44,513 came in between 31 August and 20 October.

More than one lakh applications have been processed since the draft electoral roll was published on 31 August. An official said approximately 1.15 lakh applications were disposed of between 31 August and 20 October. However, the figures are not yet final because data from 70 assembly constituencies was still pending upload on the official website.

Form 6 is used by eligible citizens aged 18 years or above to apply for inclusion in the electoral roll. Officials have said that special camps are being organised and that Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) are holding meetings with Booth Level Officers to increase applications before the deadline.

The draft roll published on 31 August contained 97.53 lakh electors, compared with 1.45 crore before the revision. Around 47.5 lakh names were removed from the earlier roll and placed in the categories of absent, shifted, dead and duplicate electors, collectively referred to as ASDD.

Of the names identified during the revision, approximately 43.3 lakh voters were classified as absent or permanently shifted, 2.82 lakh as deceased and 1.41 lakh as duplicates. The figures reflect the scale of the verification exercise but remain subject to the completion and publication of constituency-level data.

Verification rates varied across constituencies. In Okhla, details of 54.6% of existing voters had been verified, while the corresponding figures were 44.5% in R.K. Puram and 44% in Kasturba Nagar. These constituencies were also among those where around 2,000 Form 6 applications each had reportedly been processed. Tughlaqabad, Matia Mahal and R.K. Puram had each processed approximately 1,500 applications, while Kalkaji had processed around 1,000 and Babarpur around 260.

The official cited in the report said the administration’s focus from 31 October to 30 November would shift entirely to processing the applications received. The official added that Delhi would follow the process adopted in states where the SIR exercise had already been completed.

Eligible residents who are not included in the electoral roll can submit Form 6 to the relevant ERO under the Election Commission’s continuous updating process, according to the official. The final status of the current figures will depend on the completion of pending data uploads and the disposal of applications received by the 30 October deadline.
