Delhi residents whose names were removed from the voter list after changing address during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) can apply for re-enrolment by submitting Form 6 with details of their new residence and supporting documents, according to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Delhi.
The CEO office has uploaded the list of voters classified under the categories of absent, shifted, dead and duplicate, commonly referred to as the ASD&D list, on its website. Residents who find their names in the list have been advised to check their electoral status and submit Form 6 if they are eligible to be registered at their current address.
The process is significant for Delhi residents who have moved homes but continue to be eligible voters in the city. Form 6 requires information including the applicant’s name, date of birth, address and other details required for registration under the Registration of Electors Rules. Applicants must also provide documents related to their new address.
The CEO office said Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are being used to inform residents about the process and assist them with the forms. Voters can obtain and submit Form 6 through a BLO at their polling station, along with the required documents.
Special voter camps are being held at all polling stations in Delhi on 9 and 11 October. Residents who need to restore their names after an address change can visit these camps, collect Form 6 from the BLO and submit the completed application with supporting documents at the same location.
Applications can also be submitted online through the Voter Service Portal and the ECINet mobile application. The online process is intended for eligible voters seeking registration and requires applicants to enter their personal and residential details before submitting the form.
The voter-registration drive also includes young residents who have recently become eligible to vote. The Election Commission held special camps at colleges and universities for people above the age of 18. The CEO office said thousands of young people submitted Form 6 applications during the two-day campaign, after which the forms will be uploaded to the Election Commission’s portal.
Eligible young applicants whose forms are accepted are expected to be included in the electoral roll scheduled for publication on 4 December. For residents affected by address changes, the immediate steps are to search the ASD&D list on the CEO Delhi website, verify their current electoral details and submit Form 6 either through a BLO at the special camps or through the online voter-services platforms.
