Delhi SIR Resolves 20 Lakh Voter-Roll Entries, Camps Ahead

Delhi SIR voter enrolment camp at a polling station with residents seeking electoral services

Around 20 lakh of the 33 lakh entries flagged for logical discrepancies or lack of mapping in Delhi’s electoral rolls have been resolved, the Chief Electoral Officer’s office said as the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise continues across the capital. The electoral administration has also announced registration camps on October 18 and 25 for eligible residents who are not yet enrolled.

In a press note, the CEO’s office said the exercise remains focused on ensuring that no eligible voter is excluded from the electoral roll. It urged residents who have not yet enrolled to submit Form-6 along with the required documents during the ongoing revision period.

Eligible residents can file Form-6 offline with Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, Booth Level Officers or at designated polling station locations. The deadline for offline applications is October 30. Online applications can be submitted through the Election Commission’s voters’ services portal or the ECINET mobile application.

The two upcoming camps will be held at polling station locations across Delhi on October 18 and 25. The camps are intended to make enrolment and related electoral services easier to access at the local level. Similar camps were held on October 11, when Booth Level Officers assisted electors with enrolment and other services.

The CEO’s office said all eligible applicants who submit Form-6 with the required documents will be included in Delhi’s electoral rolls. The assurance comes as officials work through entries identified through the SIR process, including records affected by logical discrepancies or a lack of mapping.

Residents facing difficulties can seek assistance from Delhi’s network of 14,947 Booth Level Officers, 902 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, 70 Electoral Registration Officers and 13 District Election Officers. This administrative structure provides multiple points of contact for residents who need help with enrolment or related corrections.

The revision exercise places the polling-station network and its field officials at the centre of voter-roll administration. While the CEO’s office has reported progress on the flagged entries, the process also depends on eligible residents completing applications and submitting the required documents within the notified period.

The election office has appealed to eligible but unregistered residents to use the remaining revision period to complete their enrolment. The next special camps are scheduled for October 18 and 25, while applications through offline and online channels will remain open until October 30.
