Delhi Sadan in Dwarka to Add 44 Rooms, Green Public Guest House

Delhi Sadan, a new 10-storey public guest house planned in Dwarka, will include 44 rooms, VVIP suites, conference and banquet halls, and a rooftop restaurant, with construction estimated to cost Rs 119.70 crore. The building is scheduled to be completed within 21 months of the work being awarded.

The proposed building will be 39.15 metres high and is being planned as a green building. Its design will draw from the architectural character of Shahjahanabad in Old Delhi and the Lutyens’ area of New Delhi. The project’s total floor area, including floor area ratio, is listed as 15,984 square metres.

Delhi Sadan will be located around 11 km from the airport and approximately 115 metres from Bihar Sadan. The facility is planned to accommodate guests as well as official and public functions, with guest rooms, dormitories, conference and banquet halls, a dining hall and administrative offices included in the building programme.

The first and second floors will have arrangements for cultural events. A restaurant is planned on the terrace, while guest rooms will occupy the fifth to tenth floors. The VVIP suites will be located on the top floor and are planned with Italian marble flooring. Other rooms will use engineered timber, according to the project details reported by Navbharat Times.

The planned water infrastructure indicates the scale of the proposed facility’s daily operations. Delhi Sadan is expected to receive around 4.85 lakh litres of water a day. This includes 5,000 litres of reverse-osmosis water for drinking, 35,000 litres for laundry and other uses, and 20,000 litres of hot water for other requirements. The supplied project details do not specify the remaining components of the total daily allocation.

The guest house is planned to receive a three-star rating under the category of “griha”, as stated in the project description. Its combination of accommodation, hospitality, administrative and event spaces means the building is being designed as more than a small lodging facility, with provisions for official stays and organised public or cultural programmes.

The construction deadline will begin after the work is awarded, with the project expected to be completed in 21 months. The reported cost, proposed facilities, water requirements and architectural design place the project within Delhi’s broader network of state-linked guest houses and public buildings in Dwarka. Further implementation details, including the work-award date and construction progress, will determine when the completion schedule formally begins.
