The Delhi Development Authority’s Awas Nivesh Yojana 2026 sold more than 2,500 low-income group flats in Narela within two hours of online bookings opening, highlighting strong demand for discounted housing in the capital. Bookings began at noon on Tuesday under a first-come, first-served system, according to DDA officials.
The scheme covers 2,516 flats in Pockets 3 and 6 of Sectors G2 to G6 in Narela. The homes are being offered at a 25% discount, with tentative prices starting at Rs 14.9 lakh. Of the total inventory, 1,020 flats are in Pocket 3 and 1,496 are in Pocket 6.
DDA officials said the response reflected demand for affordable housing and confidence among homebuyers in the authority’s housing initiatives. “The response reflects the demand for affordable housing in the capital and homebuyers’ confidence in DDA’s housing initiatives. The scheme aims to make homeownership accessible to more families by offering homes at reduced prices,” officials said.
The first-come, first-served booking model meant that applicants competed for a limited number of homes as soon as online bookings opened. The rapid uptake puts the focus on the availability of housing that can be accessed by lower-income households at prices below the regular tentative rates.
The Narela flats are part of the DDA’s wider effort to promote planned urban development in the capital. The authority has described Narela as an area with significant potential for planned growth and said it is emerging as a residential, educational, institutional and sports hub.
The scheme was launched under the guidance of Delhi Lieutenant Governor TS Sandhu, according to officials. The authority said the initiative is intended to provide affordable housing while supporting the planned expansion of Delhi into developing areas such as Narela.
The DDA’s announcement does not provide details in the supplied report on the remaining housing inventory, the eligibility process, allotment timelines or the next stages after booking. The immediate milestone is the processing of bookings for the 2,516 flats covered by the scheme.
