DDA Narela Flats Sell Out Fast as 2,500 Homes Booked in Two Hours

DDA Narela flats in a planned residential housing complex in Delhi

More than 2,500 low-income group flats under the Delhi Development Authority’s Awas Nivesh Yojana 2026 were booked within two hours of online bookings opening in Narela, highlighting strong demand for lower-cost housing in the capital.

Bookings for 2,516 flats began at noon on Tuesday through a first-come, first-served process. The homes, located in Pockets 3 and 6 of Sectors G2 to G6 in Narela, were offered at a 25% discount, with tentative prices starting at Rs 14.9 lakh, according to DDA officials.

The inventory includes 1,020 flats in Pocket 3 and 1,496 flats in Pocket 6. The scheme is aimed at low-income group homebuyers and is part of the DDA’s wider effort to expand access to formal homeownership through discounted housing.

DDA officials said the response demonstrated the level of demand for affordable homes in Delhi. “The response reflects the demand for affordable housing in the capital and homebuyers’ confidence in DDA’s housing initiatives. The scheme aims to make homeownership accessible to more families by offering homes at reduced prices,” officials said.

The sale also places renewed attention on Narela’s role in Delhi’s planned expansion. The DDA described the area as having significant potential for urban growth and said it is emerging as a residential, educational, institutional and sports hub. The authority has linked the housing scheme to its broader objective of promoting planned development outside the capital’s more established residential districts.

For eligible buyers, the discounted starting price makes the scheme a major public housing offering, although the reported booking figures do not establish how many applicants completed all subsequent formalities. The source report also does not provide details on possession schedules, construction status, eligibility criteria, financing arrangements or the remaining availability, if any.

The scheme was launched under the guidance of Delhi Lieutenant Governor TS Sandhu. The DDA’s next steps will involve processing the bookings and completing the procedures associated with the allotment and sale of the flats. Further details on allotment and implementation are expected from the authority.
