DDA Housing Scheme Opens 209 EWS Flats Near Zakir Flyover

The DDA housing scheme will open registration for 209 economically weaker section (EWS) flats near the Zakir flyover on Rohtak Road in Delhi from October 7, offering homes priced between Rs 34.86 lakh and Rs 35.50 lakh.

According to a report by Live Hindustan – NCR, applicants can register for the flats until December 7. The Delhi Development Authority will select successful applicants through a computerised draw, which is scheduled to be conducted by December 15.

The flats are located near the Zakir flyover along Rohtak Road and have areas ranging from 61.48 square metres to 62.77 square metres. The announced prices vary according to the size and specifications of the individual units, with the lowest price set at Rs 34.86 lakh and the highest at Rs 35.50 lakh.

The registration is part of the second phase of the DDA’s Janta Awas Yojana. The scheme is aimed at making residential units available to citizens under an affordable housing programme. The authority has said that information about the registration process and the flats will be made available on its official website, dda.gov.in.

The latest announcement comes as the DDA prepares additional housing offerings in Narela and other locations. The report says the authority may introduce a residential scheme comprising more than 4,000 flats during October and November, around the Dussehra and Diwali period. The proposed inventory is expected to include one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom flats, although details such as final prices, locations and registration dates for these units have not been announced in the report.

The DDA also plans to appoint nodal officers in connection with the upcoming housing schemes. This is intended to support the administration of registrations and bookings as the authority expands the number of residential options available across its projects.

The authority’s existing housing programmes may also see changes in their booking timelines. The booking periods for the Karmayogi Awas Yojana, which is intended for government employees, and the Nagrik Awas Yojana for the general public were scheduled to run until the end of September. The report says these deadlines may be extended by one month, but the extension had not been formally confirmed in the supplied information.

Applicants seeking details about eligibility, registration procedures, payment requirements and the draw process have been advised to check the DDA’s official website. The registration window for the 209 EWS flats is scheduled to close on December 7, followed by the computerised draw by December 15.
