Cyberabad Municipal Corporation demolished 16 unauthorised constructions across its three zones on October 13, 2026, while issuing two notices during field-level inspections as part of an ongoing enforcement drive in Hyderabad.
The demolitions were carried out in Quthbullapur, Serilingampally and Kukatpally, according to the corporation. Quthbullapur recorded the highest number of actions, with seven structures demolished. Five demolitions took place in Serilingampally and four in Kukatpally.
The action followed field-level inspections by CMC officials to identify construction violations within the corporation’s jurisdiction. The civic body did not provide details in the report on the individual properties, the nature of the violations, or whether the structures were residential, commercial or mixed-use.
Alongside the demolitions, officials served two notices as part of the enforcement process. Notices are generally used to communicate alleged violations and initiate prescribed proceedings, but the report did not specify the sections invoked, the recipients, or the period given for compliance.
The enforcement drive places development control at the centre of the corporation’s work across Cyberabad’s rapidly urbanising zones. Demolition action is the most visible stage of regulation, while inspections and notices form part of the administrative process through which civic authorities identify and act against constructions that they classify as unauthorised.
For residents, property owners and builders, the action underlines the importance of approvals and compliance with applicable construction regulations before and during building activity. The report, however, does not establish whether the demolished structures had previously received permissions, whether appeals or court proceedings were involved, or whether any occupants were affected.
The distribution of demolitions across the three zones also indicates that the drive was not confined to a single locality. With seven actions in Quthbullapur, five in Serilingampally and four in Kukatpally, the corporation conducted enforcement across separate parts of its jurisdiction on the same day.
The CMC said its field teams would continue inspections across the corporation’s jurisdiction. It also said that follow-up action would be taken against identified violations in accordance with prescribed procedures and applicable regulations. No further timeline or zone-wise target was provided.
