Chennai Metro Water will hold its monthly grievance redressal meeting across all 15 city zones on October 10, giving residents a direct channel to raise complaints about drinking water supply, sewerage services, water and sewer tax, and pending new connections.
The Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) will conduct the meetings from 10 am to 1 pm. Each meeting will be presided over by a Superintending Engineer, allowing residents to submit petitions directly to senior officials responsible for the city’s water and sewerage services.
Residents can use the meeting to report issues related to interruptions or deficiencies in drinking water supply, sewerage services, and water and sewer tax matters. Complaints regarding pending new water and sewer connections can also be raised during the session.
The citywide format places the grievance process at the zone level rather than requiring residents to pursue every issue through separate service channels. Since the meetings are being held across all 15 zones, residents can approach the officials handling services in their respective areas.
The meeting will also provide information on rainwater harvesting and its maintenance. This connects the public grievance process with a wider water-management responsibility, particularly the upkeep of systems intended to support groundwater recharge and reduce pressure on piped water supplies. The board has requested residents to participate in the meeting.
For households dealing with unresolved service complaints, the session offers an opportunity to place the issue before a Superintending Engineer and submit a petition in person. The board’s stated agenda covers both day-to-day service problems and administrative matters such as taxation and pending connections.
The meetings are scheduled to take place from 10 am to 1 pm on October 10 across all 15 zones of Chennai. CMWSSB has asked the public to attend and raise their water, sewerage, tax and connection-related concerns directly with officials.
