c0c0n 2026 Opens in Kochi With Kerala’s Cyber-Safety Push

c0c0n 2026 conference venue in Kochi with cybersecurity delegates and Kerala Police officials

c0c0n 2026, described as India’s largest cybersecurity conference organised by a state police force, will begin in Kochi on Friday with delegates from across India and international agencies, including Interpol, gathering for a two-day programme focused on cybersecurity and public safety.

Kerala home minister Ramesh Chennithala will inaugurate the conference at a private hotel in Kochi at 9.30am, according to a report by Times of India – Kochi. The event has been organised by the Kerala Police and is expected to bring together participants from law enforcement and other agencies for discussions related to the cyber environment.

The conference follows the inauguration of Kid Glove, a pre-conference initiative launched by Chennithala on Thursday. The programme focuses on helping children recognise and confront harmful trends in the cyberworld. The minister said children should be equipped to respond to online risks in the same way that they are prepared to deal with challenges in society.

Chennithala said police forces could not ensure children’s cyber safety on their own. He called for collective support from parents, teachers and wider society, placing online safety within a broader public responsibility rather than limiting it to law-enforcement intervention.

The emphasis on children comes as online activity becomes increasingly embedded in everyday life. The report did not provide details of Kid Glove’s operating model, target districts, participating institutions or implementation timeline, but identified the initiative as one of the innovative cybersafety projects being implemented by the Kerala Police.

The minister also referred to the growing role of artificial intelligence, saying that caution and safety needed to remain priorities in an era when AI could think like humans. His remarks linked the conference and its associated initiatives to the broader challenge of managing technology-related risks as digital systems become more prominent in public and personal life.

Alongside Kid Glove, Kerala Police has launched Cyber Safe Keralam 2026. Actor Asif Ali has been announced as the initiative’s brand ambassador. The report did not specify the programme’s geographical coverage, planned activities or measurable safety targets.

The participation of Interpol and delegates from across India gives the Kochi conference an institutional dimension beyond a local awareness campaign. However, the available details are limited to the inauguration, the participating bodies and the public-safety themes outlined by the home minister. Further information on the sessions, recommendations and follow-up measures is expected as the two-day conference proceeds.
