Buxar public asset projects will be fast-tracked after District Magistrate Sahila directed officials to begin work on eligible schemes and meet fixed deadlines under the state government’s Seva Sankalp and Kayakalp Abhiyan. The district has registered 1,569 schemes against a minimum target of 1,360, according to officials at a review meeting held at the collectorate on Friday.
The campaign covers the repair, renovation, painting and upgrading of existing public assets, along with the construction of new infrastructure and other public assets. Work on repair and renovation projects must be completed by November 30, 2026, while new infrastructure and assets have to be completed by March 31, 2027.
The review meeting was attended by the deputy development commissioner, assistant collector, district panchayati raj officer and other district-level officials. Officials from municipal bodies and blocks participated through videoconferencing, bringing urban local bodies and rural administrative units into the monitoring process.
Under the campaign guidelines, at least 10 schemes must be selected in every panchayat and entered on the designated portal. The number of schemes registered in Buxar has already exceeded the district’s minimum target by 209 projects. The administration did not provide a project-wise breakdown of the registered schemes in the information available.
The district magistrate directed district-level officials and executive officers of urban local bodies to review the schemes registered under their respective departments. They were asked to coordinate with block development officers to complete pending entries on the portal and identify projects that could be finished by the November 30 deadline.
The instructions place responsibility for implementation across departments, panchayats, blocks and municipal bodies. Block development officers were told to begin work without delay on schemes that can be completed within the first deadline. Officials were also directed to monitor progress regularly rather than wait for the final review.
The administration has also been asked to maintain detailed records of the work carried out under the campaign. This includes photographs and videos taken before and after renovation, which are to be preserved for subsequent review. The documentation requirement is intended to create a record of the condition of public assets before work begins and the changes made after completion.
The campaign therefore combines project registration, fixed completion dates and visual documentation within one administrative process. However, the information released so far does not specify the types, locations, costs or implementing departments for the 1,569 schemes. The next operational milestones are the completion of eligible repair and renovation works by November 30, 2026, and the construction of new infrastructure and assets by March 31, 2027.
