Bengaluru Metro services will run beyond their usual 11 p.m. schedule on the night of October 17 to help spectators travel after the T20 cricket match in the city, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) said in a press release issued on Friday.

The extended services will operate into the early hours of Sunday, with the latest departure scheduled at 1.30 a.m. from R.V. Road on the Yellow Line. BMRCL has also embedded QR codes for two-way Namma Metro journeys in the digital match tickets to enable spectators to use the metro for their onward and return trips.

The last train from Whitefield (Kadugodi) will depart at midnight, while the final service from Challaghatta will leave at 12.15 a.m. On the Green Line, trains from Silk Institute and Madavara will depart at 12.15 a.m. The last train from Bommasandra on the Yellow Line will leave at midnight.

BMRCL said the last train from Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station, Majestic, towards all four directions would depart at 1 a.m. The timings are intended to support the movement of spectators after the match while distributing passenger flows across the city’s metro network.

The corporation has advised spectators to select stations according to the stadium entry gates they use. Passengers entering through gates on Cubbon Road have been advised to use Cubbon Park Metro station. Those accessing the stadium through gates on Link Road have been advised to use Mahatma Gandhi Road Metro station, which BMRCL identified as the closest station to those gates.

The gate-specific guidance is aimed at reducing unnecessary movement around the stadium and helping passengers reach the closest available metro access point. The arrangement also links the digital match ticket to the metro journey, allowing eligible spectators to use the QR-enabled two-way travel facility.

BMRCL said it reserves the right to regulate or temporarily close station entry points in the interest of passenger safety and security. Such measures could affect access to individual stations even while the extended train services remain in operation.

The service extension is scheduled for the T20 match on Saturday, October 17, with the final departures continuing after midnight into Sunday. Passengers have been advised to account for the published terminal-station timings and follow instructions issued at stations during the event.
