Ayodhya Ram Temple Complex Nears Completion With 148 Works Done

The Ayodhya Ram temple complex has completed 148 of its 150 construction works and is expected to see the remaining parkota and temple facade lighting work finished by November 15, according to Nripendra Misra, chairman of the temple construction committee. The completed works will then be handed over to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

Misra said arrangements would be made to illuminate the temple during Diwali in a manner matching its architectural design. Multicolour facade lights are already operating on the main temple, while connections for the remaining sub-temples are still being completed.

The parkota, which surrounds the main temple complex, remains among the key unfinished elements. A water treatment plant planned on top of the parkota has not yet been constructed, Misra said. Officials said lighting would also be installed over the parkota after the structure is ready.

The temple complex includes the Ram Lalla idol on the ground floor and Ram Darbar on the first floor. Six sub-temples dedicated to gods and goddesses have been established over the parkota. Seven other sub-temples within the main temple are dedicated to prominent sages and seers, while the Sheshavatar temple is dedicated to Lakshman.

Facade lighting for the sub-temples will be installed in phases. The sequencing places the remaining lighting and water-treatment works alongside the broader transition from construction to operational management of the complex.

After the main temple complex and parkota are handed over, the construction committee will focus on horticulture within the 70-acre complex. The committee also plans to complete a museum covering key episodes from the Ramayan and Ram’s journey, along with an auditorium, amphitheatre, guest house and other structures.

These additional facilities will be taken up in phases, according to officials. The immediate milestone remains the completion of the parkota and facade lighting by November 15, followed by the proposed handover to the temple trust.
