The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) has released a draft Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) package for land acquisition linked to infrastructure and other works in the Amaravati Capital Region, giving farmers, landowners, displaced persons and other stakeholders 15 days to submit claims or objections.
The draft package was published on October 3 and will remain open for public scrutiny until October 18. It covers land acquisition connected with trunk road infrastructure, Land Pooling Scheme infrastructure, flood mitigation works, returnable plots, land allotments and other related projects in the capital region.
Copies of the package have been displayed at the offices of tahsildars, mandal parishad development officers, sub-registrars and gram panchayats. The documents are also available at village and ward secretariats, APCRDA unit offices, local police stations and municipal corporation offices in Amaravati.
The public display is intended to allow affected people to examine the details of the proposed R&R package and verify the entries relating to them. Farmers, landowners, displaced persons and other stakeholders can submit applications or objections if they have doubts, claims, or requests for changes and additions to the published package lists.
The APCRDA commissioner’s office has asked affected stakeholders to personally check the package details at the relevant offices and submit objections within the stipulated 15-day period. The process places the published lists and the objection window at the centre of the next stage of land acquisition-related work in the capital region.
The package applies to several categories of Amaravati’s planned and ongoing urban infrastructure, including trunk roads and works under the Land Pooling Scheme. It also includes flood mitigation projects, returnable plots and land allotments, indicating that the R&R process is linked to both physical infrastructure and the land arrangements associated with the capital region’s development.
Stakeholders seeking clarification have also been advised to participate in gram sabhas that are scheduled to be conducted shortly. The meetings are expected to provide an additional forum for farmers, displaced persons and other affected residents to raise queries regarding the package and the published lists.
The immediate deadline for submissions is October 18. The APCRDA has requested those with claims, objections or requests for additions to make their applications to the concerned authorities before the public scrutiny period closes.
