An Ahmedabad student correction camp will be held on October 16 to help families fix errors in names, surnames and caste details before forms for the 2027 SSC and HSC board examinations are submitted, according to the Ahmedabad City District Education Officer’s office.
The joint camp will be organised for schools in the eastern and western parts of Ahmedabad at St Xavier’s Loyola Hall in Naranpura. It will remain open from 10am to 2pm and is intended for students and parents from the city’s primary, secondary and higher secondary schools.
The initiative has been announced by the Ahmedabad City District Education Officer’s office in coordination with the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board. Its stated purpose is to allow necessary corrections to student information before the examination form-filling process begins for the 2027 board examinations.
The correction process is significant because inaccuracies in names, surnames and caste details can create complications during examination registration and in subsequent academic documentation. The education authorities said the camp would help address these issues at an earlier stage instead of leaving students and parents to seek corrections after the board examinations.
According to the report, families have routinely faced difficulties after board examinations while attempting to correct such details. In some cases, the matter has reportedly extended to court proceedings. The proposed camp is therefore designed to reduce the need for repeated visits to the board office and make the documentation process easier at the school level.
The arrangement brings students and parents from schools across Ahmedabad’s eastern and western zones to a single general camp rather than requiring separate visits to different offices. The report does not specify the documents that families must carry, the officials who will process individual requests, or whether additional camps will be organised after October 16.
The move also places responsibility on schools and families to identify discrepancies before examination forms are submitted. Early correction can prevent an error from moving from school records into board examination documentation, where changes may require additional procedures or supporting evidence.
The Ahmedabad education authorities have not indicated the number of students expected to attend the camp or provided a separate schedule for individual schools. The immediate next step is the October 16 camp at St Xavier’s Loyola Hall, where students and parents can seek corrections before the 2027 SSC and HSC examination form-filling process begins.
