Ahmedabad society attack scene at a residential complex in New Naroda

An Ahmedabad society attack during a Navratri celebration left the chairman of Srujan Sky Flats in New Naroda seriously injured, after a dispute over seating allegedly escalated into violence on the night of October 15. Naroda police detained two people after registering a case based partly on CCTV footage, according to Gujarat Samachar – Ahmedabad.

The injured chairman, Anil Nayak, is also a head constable with the city traffic police. He was taken to a private hospital after sustaining injuries to his head and other parts of the body. The incident occurred inside the residential society while residents were organising a garba event.

According to the report, an argument first broke out between residents Nidhi Ladva and Hinaben Panchal over a chair during the celebration. Nidhi Ladva’s father, Chhaganbhai, also reached the spot. Society members intervened and reportedly settled the dispute.

The situation allegedly worsened shortly afterwards when Hitendra Ladva and another man arrived at the society on a motorcycle and began arguing and abusing those present in support of Nidhi Ladva. Anil Nayak and other society members reportedly persuaded them to leave the premises.

The report states that four men later returned on two Activa scooters carrying wooden sticks. One of them allegedly removed his shirt, abused residents near the gate and struck Nayak with a stick. When the chairman tried to intervene, Ansh Ladva allegedly attacked him on the head with a sharp weapon described in the report as resembling a knuckle-duster.

Residents then gathered at the spot, following which the alleged attackers fled. The confrontation was recorded by CCTV cameras installed in the society. The footage was used by Naroda police as part of the investigation, the report said.

The report identified Ansh Ladva, Mahavirsinh Rana and Krutarthsinh Raol among those allegedly involved, along with another unidentified person. Police detained two accused persons and began further legal proceedings. The supplied report does not provide details of the sections registered, the identities of those detained, or the latest medical condition of Nayak.
