An Ahmedabad road accident near the Sanathal railway bridge killed two young men after their motorcycle crashed into a container truck that had allegedly been parked on the road without parking lights or reflectors, according to a report by Divya Bhaskar – Ahmedabad. Traffic police have arrested the container-truck driver and begun further investigation.
The victims, identified in the report as Harshadkumar and Shani, suffered severe injuries to their heads and other parts of their bodies after the motorcycle struck the rear of the stationary container. The collision took place near the Sanathal railway bridge in Ahmedabad.
People in the area alerted the emergency medical service after the crash. A 108 ambulance reached the location, but the attending doctor declared both men dead at the scene, the report said.
The case was initiated after Nileshkumar, the younger brother of Harshadkumar, filed a complaint at the SG Highway Traffic Police Station against the driver of the container truck. The complaint alleged that the vehicle had been parked negligently and without the required visibility measures on a public road.
Police subsequently arrested the container-truck driver and started legal proceedings. The reported circumstances have placed attention on the risks created when large commercial vehicles are left on urban roads without parking lights or reflective markers, particularly in locations where approaching motorists may have limited time to respond.
The incident also highlights the role of road visibility and enforcement in preventing collisions involving parked heavy vehicles. The supplied report does not provide details about the exact time of the crash, the road’s lighting conditions, the driver’s identity, or the specific sections of law invoked in the case.
The SG Highway Traffic Police investigation and the legal proceedings against the arrested driver are continuing.
