Ahmedabad traffic police have launched an investigation after a video appearing to show a young man performing a dangerous stunt from a moving Audi car went viral on social media. The incident was reported on Jagatpur Road late at night, where the man is seen opening the driver-side door and standing outside the moving vehicle while holding a phone.
According to the report, the maroon-coloured car was being driven with its door open as the man carried out the stunt for a social media reel. Other vehicles and pedestrians were present on the road, raising concerns that the act could have endangered people nearby and triggered a serious accident.
The report also states that the car did not have a number plate visible on it. The absence of a number plate has become a central part of the traffic police investigation, as officers seek to identify the vehicle and establish who owns it.
The A Division Traffic Police began examining the video after it came to their attention. Officials are investigating whether the footage was recorded in the Jagatpur Road area and are working to determine the ownership of the car.
The police have indicated that legal action will be considered after the location, vehicle and people involved are verified. The report does not establish whether the video has been independently authenticated or whether any accident occurred during the stunt.
Dangerous driving and roadside stunts can put not only the participants but also motorists, pedestrians and other road users at risk. In this case, the next step for the traffic police is to confirm the footage, identify the vehicle owner and determine the applicable violations before proceeding with action.
