Noida Elevated Road DPR Ready, ₹850 Crore Project Moves Ahead

Proposed Noida elevated road corridor near the Rajnigandha Underpass

The detailed project report for a proposed 5.49-km, six-lane elevated road from the Rajnigandha Underpass to Sector 60 in Noida has been completed, moving a long-delayed road project closer to the next stage of consideration and implementation.

The DPR was prepared by IIT Roorkee at the direction of the Noida Authority. According to Navbharat Times – Noida, IIT Roorkee is expected to submit the report to the authority by Friday. The proposed project is estimated to cost between ₹800 crore and ₹850 crore.

The elevated road is planned to begin near Sector 3, in front of the Rajnigandha Underpass, and continue through Sectors 10 and 12 before reaching the Sector 22 T-point, Sector 57 and Sector 60. The proposed alignment is intended to improve movement between the DND area and Sector 62 by creating a grade-separated route through several established sectors.

The project had remained pending for a long period because its alignment had not been finalised. The Noida Authority recently approved a revised alignment for the elevated road, allowing the DPR work to be completed. The alignment decision was a key requirement before the technical and cost details could be consolidated.

One of the most technically complex sections is expected to be the Sector 12–Sector 22 T-point. The proposed road will need to turn at this location, and IIT Roorkee has prepared a special curve design for the section. The institute paid particular attention to this portion while preparing the DPR, according to the report.

The project’s proposed six-lane configuration is designed to carry traffic along a continuous elevated corridor across the identified sectors. Its stated objective is to make travel from the DND side towards Sector 62 easier, although the supplied report does not provide a traffic forecast, construction schedule, land requirement, tender timeline or detailed execution plan.

The DPR submission will allow the Noida Authority to examine the project’s technical design and estimated cost in greater detail. Further decisions on administrative approval, funding, tendering and construction will depend on the authority’s subsequent process. The next immediate milestone is the expected submission of the completed DPR by IIT Roorkee to the Noida Authority.
