Tiger Shroff Firing Case: Bystander Stable, Three Detained

KEM Hospital in Mumbai, where the injured bystander in the Tiger Shroff firing case is being treated

A bystander injured during the Tiger Shroff firing case in Mumbai is haemodynamically stable at KEM Hospital, while three suspects, including a minor, have been detained in Rajasthan, police and hospital authorities said on Monday.

The injured man, identified as Umesh Chauhan, was outside Pushpa Park in Juhu on Sunday night when assailants allegedly opened fire at the actor’s car, according to a police official. Chauhan was initially treated and stabilised at Cooper Hospital in Juhu before being shifted to the civic-run KEM Hospital around midnight for specialist care.

A medical bulletin issued by KEM Hospital said the bullet injury had not affected Chauhan’s heart or lungs. He is receiving treatment in the Emergency Intensive Care Unit under the Department of General Surgery, with consultations from the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery team.

Doctors are managing his condition conservatively while closely monitoring his vital parameters, which remain stable, hospital authorities said. Further imaging and specialist assessments will determine the next course of treatment based on his clinical progress. The hospital said additional official updates on his condition would be issued as required.

Meanwhile, Kota city police detained three people at a railway station in Rajasthan while they were travelling on the Pune–Jaipur Superfast Express, according to police. The group included two adults and a minor. Kota Superintendent of Police Tejaswani Gautam said the operation lasted around 15 minutes.

Police said the suspects were allegedly planning to flee to Nepal. Two of those detained were identified as Ritik alias Roshan from Begusarai in Bihar and Rehan from Sonipat in Haryana. The identity of the minor has not been disclosed.

Gautam said one of the detained suspects was allegedly in contact with Anil Pandit, whom police described as an associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The gang has purportedly claimed responsibility for Sunday’s attack in an unverified social media post. That claim has not been independently verified.

The incident is being investigated by police, including the circumstances of the firing, the alleged links of the detained suspects and the movement of the group from Mumbai to Rajasthan. Chauhan’s treatment and further specialist assessments at KEM Hospital remain the immediate medical next steps.
