The firing on actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai’s Juhu area has triggered a political confrontation over law and order, with Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut accusing Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of failing to control the situation and the chief minister saying that Mumbai Police has secured leads in the case.

The incident took place on Sunday evening near Pushpa Park, close to Juhu police station, according to a report by Navbharat Times – Mumbai. Shroff was returning from playing football in his BMW when the vehicle slowed down in the Juhu area. Three men on a Pulsar motorcycle allegedly opened fire at the car.

Shroff survived the attack. The report said he suffered minor scratches and burn marks on his hand caused by gunpowder. His driver, identified as Firdaus, sustained a bullet injury to his hand. An auto-rickshaw driver identified as Chauhan was also injured in the incident.

The attack has raised immediate questions about security in an area located near a police station and about the ability of Mumbai’s law-enforcement system to prevent armed attacks in public spaces. The report said the shooting occurred only a short distance from Juhu police station, while the attackers were able to approach the vehicle on a motorcycle and leave the area.

Speaking to the media on Monday, Raut directly criticised Fadnavis, who is both Maharashtra’s chief minister and home minister. Raut referred to earlier incidents involving actor Salman Khan, the killing of former minister Baba Siddique and the murder of Shiv Sena worker Pradeep Purnekar in Thane. He described the situation as “jungle raj” and called for the state government to be dismissed and President’s Rule to be imposed.

Raut also alleged that conditions in Maharashtra had moved beyond the chief minister’s control. He said he feared the same gang could be used to attack political opponents in the future. These were political allegations made by Raut and were not independently established in the report.

Fadnavis responded by saying that Bollywood had confidence in Mumbai Police and that investigators had obtained leads in the case. He said the accused would be arrested soon and described those who attacked Shroff as cowards. The report quoted him as saying that Mumbai Police would deal with the attackers.

The report also said that responsibility for the attack was claimed through a social media post attributed to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, naming Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu. The claim was presented as part of the police case reporting; the report did not provide details of an arrest or a formal police confirmation of the post’s authenticity.

The case therefore combines an active criminal investigation with a wider political dispute over public safety in Mumbai. The immediate operational questions are the identification and arrest of the attackers, the verification of the social media claim and the investigation into the injuries suffered by Shroff’s driver and the auto-rickshaw driver. Fadnavis said the Mumbai Police had obtained leads and that arrests would follow.
