Mumbai Shooting Targets Tiger Shroff’s Car; Driver Injured in Juhu

Mumbai shooting site near Juhu, with police investigating a car firing incident

A Mumbai shooting incident involving actor Tiger Shroff was reported in Juhu on Sunday evening, with the actor escaping unharmed while his driver was injured, according to statements cited by the Indian Express. The firing took place near Pushpa Park after Shroff had gone to play football and was returning home in his car.

Maharashtra minister Ashish Shelar said he had spoken to Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti and that Joint Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, Manoj Sharma, was at the spot investigating the incident. Shelar said Shroff and his driver were taken to Nanavati Hospital for treatment.

According to the report, people had gathered near the location to catch a glimpse of the actor when unknown assailants allegedly opened fire at the vehicle. The identities and number of the attackers were not immediately established in the information available. Police were also probing claims that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang may have been involved; no official confirmation of that claim was provided in the report.

The incident has placed renewed attention on security around high-profile individuals and the ability of Mumbai’s policing system to respond to armed attacks in busy urban neighbourhoods. Juhu combines residential streets, recreational spaces, entertainment-industry activity and high pedestrian and vehicle movement, making incident response dependent on rapid police deployment, witness accounts and evidence collection from the surrounding area.

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde condemned the attack and said gang wars would not be tolerated in Mumbai. He also said artists should not have to live in fear and that strict action would be taken against those responsible. The statement did not provide details of arrests, the weapon used or the investigation’s immediate findings.

The report also cited criticism from Congress leader Sachin Sawant, who questioned the state government’s handling of law and order. Sawant referred to earlier incidents, including the killing of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, firing outside actor Salman Khan’s residence and threats issued to actors and producers. His remarks were political criticism and did not establish a connection between those cases and the Juhu shooting.

For residents, the incident raises questions about public safety in neighbourhoods where celebrity movements can draw crowds and create unpredictable traffic and security conditions. The available report does not indicate whether any members of the public were injured or whether police had identified suspects.

The investigation was continuing under Joint CP Manoj Sharma, with police expected to establish the sequence of events, identify the assailants and determine the motive. Further details on arrests, forensic findings and the driver’s condition were awaited.
