Jodhpur Police have frozen movable and immovable assets worth around Rs 46.09 lakh belonging to two accused drug traffickers, while Jodhpur Rural Police separately froze assets valued at approximately Rs 1.58 crore in another case, officials said on Saturday.
The action by Jodhpur West Police covers a house and three vehicles allegedly linked to Shekhar Ram, who faces three cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Police also took control of six shops belonging to Kanaram, who faces eight cases under the law.
DCP (West) Kamal Shekhawat said the properties were allegedly acquired through illegal activities. The police campaign against drug traffickers and assets suspected to have been purchased with proceeds from drug-related activity would continue, the official said.
The latest action forms part of a wider enforcement drive in Jodhpur. Police said action under the NDPS Act has so far been initiated against six drug traffickers.
Jodhpur Rural Police had frozen assets worth approximately Rs 1.58 crore registered in the name of Bhagirath Ram and his family members on Friday. The properties include agricultural land, 10 shops, a Bolero Camper, a house and a plot in Jodhpur city, as well as a residential house in the accused’s village.
The police also reported wider action against narcotics during 2026. Authorities destroyed 3,846 kg of narcotic substances valued at around Rs 6 crore, while seized vehicles worth more than Rs 3 crore were disposed of, according to the report.
Police said the number of actions initiated under the NDPS Act had increased by 25% compared with the previous year. The latest asset-freezing measures are part of the continuing enforcement process against alleged drug trafficking and properties connected to the cases.
