InvoiceCloud has announced a three-year investment of approximately ₹350 crore to expand its global innovation hub in Hyderabad, with the digital billing and payments company planning larger teams, additional infrastructure, artificial intelligence initiatives and new product development in India.
The company said the investment will build on the contribution of its Hyderabad employees to products and services used by InvoiceCloud customers. The announcement comes as the company expands its India operations two years after establishing a presence in the city.
“Hyderabad is becoming a bigger part of how we build for our customers, and that’s being driven by the results the team is delivering,” InvoiceCloud chief executive officer Kevin O’Brien said. “This investment gives us the people, technology and capacity to build on that progress over the next three years.”
InvoiceCloud’s India team has grown to more than 250 employees since operations began in Hyderabad in 2024. The company expects the workforce to reach 300 employees by the end of 2026, with further expansion planned over the following three years. More than 70 per cent of the India workforce is employed in engineering and product roles, including teams working on artificial intelligence, platform engineering and product development.
The expansion places Hyderabad at the centre of InvoiceCloud’s technology and product-building activities outside its US headquarters. The company said its teams in the city are contributing to its AI roadmap across product development, customer experience, platform reliability and technology modernisation.
InvoiceCloud also said per-engineer productivity increased 120 per cent year-on-year, which it attributed largely to the use of AI tools and processes. The company said these tools have helped teams build and deploy solutions faster. The productivity figure is a company-reported measure, and the announcement did not provide an independently audited methodology for calculating it.
One of the products developed by the Hyderabad team is InvoiceCloud’s agentic AI customer self-service capability, called the Service Module. According to Biju Davis, senior vice-president and India site leader at InvoiceCloud, the team took the product from development to launch in under six months.
“The team in Hyderabad took the Service Module, our agentic AI self-service capability for consumers, from development to launch in under six months,” Davis said. “That’s a good example of how we’re combining strong engineering talent with AI to solve customer problems and move faster.”
The company has expanded its Hyderabad office footprint by 50 per cent to 33,000 square feet. The additional space will accommodate engineering, product and AI teams. The new floor also includes a permanent mural co-created by InvoiceCloud employees and the Aravani Art Project, a public art collective that creates murals across India.
More than 20 leaders from InvoiceCloud’s US headquarters and India team attended the inauguration of the expanded facility. Those present included O’Brien, chief people officer Jessi Marcoff, chief technology officer Jed Maczuba, chief product officer Steve Schult and Davis.
Headquartered in the United States, InvoiceCloud provides digital billing and payment solutions to more than 3,250 customers across the utility, government and insurance sectors. The company said its platforms process more than $40 billion in payments annually. The Hyderabad expansion will now be implemented through the announced three-year growth plan, including workforce growth, infrastructure expansion and continued AI and product development.
