Bengaluru Metro services will run beyond their usual closing time for spectators attending Saturday’s T20 cricket match, with the final train from RV Road scheduled to depart at 1.30am and terminal-station services extended until 1.15am.
The extended schedule is intended to help spectators leave the stadium by public transport after the match. Namma Metro’s regular services normally end at around 11pm, but the revised timetable will keep trains operating into the early hours of the following day.
The last trains from Whitefield (Kadugodi) and Bommasandra will depart at midnight. Services from Challaghatta, Silk Institute and Madavara will continue until 12.15am, according to details reported by the Times of India.
At Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station, Majestic, the last train towards all four directions will leave at 1am. The final service from RV Road will operate at 1.30am, providing an additional connection for spectators travelling after the match.
The schedule covers key terminal and interchange points across Bengaluru’s operational metro network, including the Purple, Green and extended corridors. The staggered departure times mean that passengers will need to account for the last available service from the station where they begin their return journey.
Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) has also arranged for a Namma Metro QR code to be embedded in digital match tickets. The code will support two-way metro travel for ticket holders, although passengers will still need to use the appropriate station and board trains before the final departure times.
BMRCL has advised spectators to select stations based on the entry and exit gates they use at the stadium. Those using the stadium gates on Cubbon Road should travel through Cubbon Park station, while spectators using gates on Link Road should use Mahatma Gandhi Road station.
The station guidance is relevant to crowd movement after the match because Cubbon Park and Mahatma Gandhi Road stations serve different sides of the stadium precinct. Directing passengers according to their gates can help distribute arrivals across the two nearby stations rather than concentrating all passengers at a single entry point.
Spectators travelling towards Whitefield, Bommasandra, Challaghatta, Silk Institute, Madavara or other terminal destinations will need to make sure they have entered the network early enough to complete their journey before the applicable last train. Passengers changing direction at Majestic will also need to observe the 1am final departure there.
The extended service is a temporary operational arrangement linked to the T20 match. BMRCL’s stated instructions cover the additional operating hours, QR-based ticket access and station use according to stadium gates. The final services will depart at the announced times unless the corporation issues a further update.
