The Haryana State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has arrested a private assistant to a revenue patwari in Palwal for allegedly accepting a ₹3,000 bribe to enter registry documents into online land records, while the patwari named in the case remains absconding, according to Live Hindustan – NCR.
The arrested accused has been identified as Yadram, who was working as the private assistant to Halka Patwari Pravesh. The bureau alleged that Yadram demanded the money from a complainant in the name of the patwari for getting registry documents entered into the revenue records online.
The complainant also alleged that ₹7,000 had previously been taken from him in connection with the same work. After a further demand for ₹3,000, he approached the anti-corruption bureau, the report said.
Following the complaint, the ACB team in Palwal verified the allegations and planned a trap operation. Yadram was allegedly caught accepting ₹3,000 from the complainant during the operation. The action was carried out in the presence of gazetted witnesses, according to the report.
The case relates to a routine but consequential stage in property administration: the digital entry of registry documents in revenue records. Such records are used in the official processing of land and property transactions, making delays or demands for unofficial payments a direct concern for residents completing ownership-related work.
The ACB is investigating the alleged role of Patwari Pravesh, who was reported to be absconding after the trap operation. The bureau is searching for him as part of the ongoing investigation.
An FIR was registered on October 16, 2026, under Sections 7 and 7A of the Prevention of Corruption Act at the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau police station in Faridabad. The report identified the case as FIR number 24. It also said the team followed the prescribed procedure under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita during the trap operation.
The allegations against the arrested assistant and the patwari are subject to investigation and due legal process. The ACB’s further inquiry will determine the alleged involvement of the patwari and establish the circumstances surrounding the earlier and subsequent payments.
