Ram Temple Construction Review Flags Security and Civil Work Push

Ram Temple construction works and boundary security infrastructure at the Ayodhya complex

Ram Temple construction committee chief Nripendra Misra reviewed civil works, security infrastructure and landscaping at the 70-acre temple complex in Ayodhya on Thursday, holding discussions with construction agencies, vendors and senior officials involved in completing the site.

Misra toured parts of the complex to assess the progress of ongoing works, according to a report by The Times of India. He also inspected the boundary wall and a check post being established to keep the temple premises insulated from possible attacks.

The inspection covered more than the temple structure itself. The review included civil works across the wider complex, along with the physical security arrangements being created around its perimeter. Landscaping work was also among the areas examined during the visit.

Misra’s visit came after the appointment of three new members to the Temple Trust, making it his first visit to Ayodhya since those appointments. The timing places the inspection within a broader phase of coordination between the trust, construction agencies, vendors and government authorities responsible for the project’s completion.

Temple Trust general secretary Swami Govind Dev Giri, who has been staying in Ayodhya since the beginning of Navratri, held a discussion with Misra on the progress of construction works. The meeting brought together the committee leadership and a senior trust functionary as work continued across the complex.

The security works inspected by Misra include the boundary wall and check post. The reported purpose of these facilities is to separate the temple premises from potential attacks and strengthen control around the site. The report does not provide details of the design, staffing arrangements, technology or operational procedures associated with the security infrastructure.

The inspection also highlights the administrative structure behind the project. The construction committee is coordinating with agencies and vendors working on the complex, while the Temple Trust remains involved in reviewing progress. Misra is expected to provide his inputs and findings to the Central government and the Uttar Pradesh government after completing the inspection process.

A further inspection is scheduled for Friday, when Misra is expected to review the temple works again before communicating his assessment to the two governments. The next review will determine the immediate set of observations and inputs arising from the inspection, while construction and associated site works continue.
