Goa’s Sarkar Tumchya Dari programme will be held across 10 talukas on October 17, allowing citizens to meet ministers and department officials directly to raise grievances and seek help with government services and welfare schemes, the Chief Minister’s Office said.
The outreach programme will take place from 10am to 1pm in Bicholim, Salcete, Mormugao, Sattari, Ponda, Sanguem, Canacona, Pernem, Tiswadi and Dharbandora. It is being organised under the state government’s Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
According to the CMO, ministers will be available at designated venues in the respective talukas to interact with citizens. The programme is intended to provide a direct channel for residents who need to submit grievances, understand administrative procedures or obtain information about government schemes.
Departmental counters will be set up at the venues to provide information about government services, welfare programmes and the procedures required to apply for benefits. Citizens will also be able to collect application forms and scheme booklets during the programme.
The CMO said assistance would be available for grievances related to the Mhaje Ghar Yojana. Deputy collector and mamlatdar counters will provide information and assistance concerning the housing scheme, while revenue department services will also be available through these counters.
The programme will cover several welfare and livelihood-related schemes. Residents can seek information about the Dayanand Social Security Scheme, the Griha Aadhar Scheme and the Laadli Laxmi Scheme. Guidance on various agricultural schemes will also be provided at the counters.
The arrangement places elected representatives and officials from multiple departments at common public-facing venues for a limited period. This is intended to help residents address queries that may otherwise require visits to separate offices or interactions with different administrative departments.
The outreach comes as Goa approaches elections, according to the report announcing the programme. However, the CMO’s stated focus for the event is the hearing of citizen grievances and the provision of information and assistance related to public services and welfare benefits.
Residents have been urged to visit the nearest designated venue between 10am and 1pm on October 17. The government has asked citizens to use the programme to interact with ministers and departmental representatives regarding grievances, scheme eligibility, application procedures and available services.
