Telangana voter enrolment camps will be held at every polling station on October 15 and 16, giving citizens omitted from the draft electoral roll and first-time voters an opportunity to apply for inclusion before the final roll is published on November 9.
The camps will be organised by the Telangana Chief Electoral Officer, with Booth-Level Officers and Booth-Level Agents assisting eligible applicants in completing Form 6 applications. The exercise will cover polling stations across the state, including those in Hyderabad and other districts.
Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharsan Reddy has directed the Hyderabad District Election Officer and all district collectors to make arrangements for the special camps. He has also instructed election authorities to ensure that eligible citizens are informed about the enrolment opportunity.
The two-day exercise is particularly relevant for people whose names do not appear in the draft electoral roll, as well as young and first-time voters entering the electoral system. Applicants can visit their designated polling stations during the special camps and submit Form 6 for enrolment.
The camps place the polling station, rather than a separate district-level office, at the centre of the enrolment process. The involvement of Booth-Level Officers and Booth-Level Agents is intended to provide on-site assistance to applicants while the draft roll is being reviewed ahead of final publication.
The schedule also creates a defined window for citizens to raise enrolment requests before the final electoral roll is issued. According to the Telangana Chief Electoral Officer’s directions, district election officials are responsible for organising the camps and publicising the opportunity among eligible residents.
The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on November 9. Until then, the October 15 and 16 camps will serve as the state’s special enrolment drive for eligible citizens whose names were omitted from the draft roll and those registering as voters for the first time.
