Panchkula Electoral Roll Revision: 5,643 Hearings Pending

Panchkula electoral roll revision notices being processed at a district election office

Panchkula has issued 103,684 notices under the Special Intensive Revision-2026 of electoral rolls, while 5,643 cases remain pending for hearings ahead of the final roll’s scheduled publication on November 6.

The figures were reviewed at a meeting chaired by deputy commissioner-cum-district election officer Mona Sharma to assess progress on the revision of photo electoral rolls and ensure that pending work is completed within the prescribed timeline.

The pending hearing cases account for 5.44% of the total notices generated so far. Sharma directed electoral registration officers and the sub-divisional officers (civil) of Kalka and Panchkula to dispose of all pending cases by October 28.

The instructions cover the processing of notices and the hearings linked to them. Officials were told to avoid delays so that eligible voters do not face difficulties while submitting documents required for inclusion in the electoral rolls.

The revision process places a time-bound administrative responsibility on electoral registration officials, who must process the cases before the final roll is published. The figures reviewed at the meeting indicate that more than one lakh notices have already entered the district’s electoral-roll workflow, while thousands of cases still require hearings.

Sharma also appealed to voters who have not yet submitted the necessary documents to contact their booth-level officers and complete the process at the earliest. Booth-level officers are the local point of contact identified for voters during the exercise.

The administration’s October 28 deadline for clearing pending hearings comes before the final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on November 6. No further details on the number of cases disposed of at the meeting or the documents required in individual cases were provided in the report.
