Gujarat Trains Face Borivali Cutback as Bandra Work Begins

Four trains travelling from Gujarat towards Mumbai will terminate at Borivali instead of Bandra Terminus on different dates between October 12 and 16 because of platform construction work at Bandra Terminus, according to details reported by Gujarat Samachar citing the Western Railway announcement.

The temporary change will affect passengers using four services originating from Bhuj, Valsad and Bhanvad. Travellers holding tickets to Bandra Terminus on the affected trains will have to arrange onward travel from Borivali by another mode of transport.

The short termination has been attributed to construction activity at Bandra Terminus and limitations on keeping trains stationed there during the work. The change is not scheduled for all four trains on the same day; each service has a separate date on which it will end its journey at Borivali.

The affected services are train number 09038, the Bhuj–Bandra Terminus service, on October 12; train number 09018, the Valsad–Bandra Terminus service, on October 13; train number 09012, another Bhuj–Bandra Terminus service, on October 15; and train number 09006, the Bhanvad–Bandra Terminus service, on October 16.

Passengers travelling to Bandra, central Mumbai or other destinations beyond Borivali may need to make additional arrangements after getting off the train. The change could require them to use local transport or other available connections from Borivali, depending on their destination and travel schedule.

Borivali is a major railway interchange in Mumbai’s western suburbs, while Bandra Terminus serves as an important long-distance railhead for services connecting Mumbai with Gujarat and other parts of western India. A temporary change in the terminating station therefore affects not only the final leg of a passenger’s journey but also the planning of onward travel, luggage movement and arrival times.

Passengers have been advised to check the latest train operation and timing information before leaving for the station. They should also verify the relevant Western Railway announcement and confirm whether their service is affected on the date of travel, as the changes apply to specific trains and dates rather than to all Gujarat–Mumbai services.

The four services are scheduled to operate with the temporary termination arrangement on October 12, 13, 15 and 16. Further travel arrangements beyond Borivali will have to be made by passengers travelling on those services.
