Alandi road stunts filmed for an Instagram reel have led to a police case against eight people after vehicles were allegedly driven dangerously on a public road in Kelgaon, within Khed taluka. Police have also seized the Toyota Innova Crysta used in the stunt sequence and are investigating the incident.
The case was registered at Alandi police station after the group allegedly drove vehicles in a reckless manner to create a video celebrating the arrival of a new car. According to the report, the incident took place in a public area where other citizens were present, creating a risk to both bystanders and the people involved in the filming.
The vehicle identified in the case is an Innova Crysta bearing registration number MH 14 NS 4501. Mahesh Balkrishna Madke, a resident of Gopalpura in Alandi, had purchased the vehicle on 7 October 2026. The report said the group used the occasion of the vehicle’s arrival and welcome to produce an Instagram reel.
The alleged stunt involved repeatedly driving the car in circles on the road. Police said the manner in which the vehicles were operated was dangerous and reckless. The activity allegedly created a risk to the lives of people on the road as well as those participating in the filming.
The filming also involved a drone. According to the report, the group did not obtain prior permission from the administration before using the drone to record the stunt. Police have treated this as a violation of a preventive order issued by the Pimpri-Chinchwad additional commissioner of police concerning drone operations.
The eight people named in the case include Mahesh Balkrishna Madke, described in the report as a religious figure; reel creator Pratik Shinde, a resident of Baramati; Vishal Satare; Yash Mungase; and four other individuals. The report did not identify the remaining four people by name.
The incident places public-road filming and vehicle stunts within the scope of local police enforcement, particularly where such activity can expose road users and participants to danger. The police action includes registration of the case and seizure of the vehicle used in the alleged stunt. Further investigation is being conducted by Alandi police.
