Premier Energies has secured solar orders worth over ₹4,000 crore for the July-September quarter of FY27, covering 2,308 MW of solar cells, modules and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects, the company said in a statement reported by The Hindu BusinessLine.
The orders have come from a mix of major power producers, module manufacturers, EPC companies and other customers. The company said the contracts include supplies of solar cells and modules as well as EPC project execution, linking the order book to both equipment manufacturing and the delivery of solar infrastructure.
The announcement comes after Premier Energies nearly doubled its module manufacturing capacity to 11.1 GW. Its solar cell manufacturing capacity has also increased from 3.6 GW to 10.6 GW following the commissioning of a 7 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing facility at Naidupeta in Andhra Pradesh last month.
TOPCon, or tunnel oxide passivated contact, is a solar-cell technology used to improve conversion efficiency. The new facility gives the company additional manufacturing capacity as solar developers, module makers and EPC firms expand procurement for new projects. The company did not disclose the individual value, delivery schedule or customer-wise break-up of the orders in the statement cited in the report.
The scale of the order announcement places manufacturing capacity at the centre of Premier Energies’ growth plans. The company’s stated module capacity of 11.1 GW and solar-cell capacity of 10.6 GW represent a substantial expansion from its earlier cell capacity, with the latest addition located at Naidupeta in Andhra Pradesh.
For the solar infrastructure supply chain, orders covering 2,308 MW can involve several stages between manufacturing and project execution. Cell and module supplies support the physical deployment of solar generation capacity, while EPC contracts cover the execution of projects for customers. The company’s statement did not specify how the 2,308 MW is divided between product supplies and EPC work.
Chiranjeev Saluja, Managing Director of Premier Energies, said the company’s growing order book was “a strong validation of our growth strategy and execution ability”. The statement did not provide further details on the expected completion dates or revenue recognition from the newly announced orders.
The announcement also highlights the growing role of domestic manufacturing in the delivery of renewable-energy infrastructure. Premier Energies said its increased capacity would serve power producers, module manufacturers, EPC companies and other customers, but the company did not disclose whether the orders were intended for projects in particular states or regions.
The next operational milestone is the ramp-up of the recently commissioned 7 GW TOPCon cell facility at Naidupeta, alongside execution of the newly announced orders. Premier Energies has not provided a detailed project-wise timeline in the statement cited by The Hindu BusinessLine.
