Pune Traffic Police have introduced a one-way traffic arrangement on a 350-metre stretch in Undri, restricting vehicles travelling from Aryan World School towards Holewasti and directing motorists to use an alternative route through Kad Nagar.
The revised arrangement applies to the road from Holewasti towards Aryan World School and has been introduced to regulate vehicular movement on the Link Road in the Undri area. The Pune Traffic Branch issued the notification on October 9.
Under the arrangement, vehicles can travel on the designated stretch from Holewasti towards Aryan World School. However, motorists travelling in the opposite direction, from Aryan World School towards Holewasti, will not be permitted to use the road in the restricted direction.
The traffic police have directed affected motorists to approach the NIBM B.T. Kawade Road junction at Kad Nagar before continuing towards their destinations. The alternative route is intended to provide access for vehicles that would otherwise have used the restricted section between Aryan World School and Holewasti.
The traffic change covers approximately 350 metres, but it affects movement around a local road network that includes Holewasti, Aryan World School, the Link Road and the NIBM B.T. Kawade Road junction. Commuters using these routes have been advised to account for the revised movement pattern and follow the prescribed diversion.
The notification was issued under relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and the Maharashtra Police Act. These legal provisions form the basis for the traffic branch’s authority to regulate vehicle movement on the affected stretch.
The arrangement is part of traffic management measures for the Link Road in Undri. The traffic police have appealed to citizens to use the alternative route and cooperate with personnel deployed in the area to maintain smooth vehicular movement.
Commuters travelling through Holewasti and the area near Aryan World School have been specifically advised to follow the revised traffic arrangement and comply with instructions issued by the traffic police. Vehicles continuing to use the road against the notified direction may face intervention from traffic personnel.
The notification does not state an end date for the one-way arrangement in the information supplied. Motorists using the Undri road network are therefore required to follow the traffic branch’s directions and the on-ground instructions provided at the affected locations.
