Bengaluru-Bidar Special Trains Add Festive Travel Capacity

Bengaluru-Bidar special trains serving passengers during the Dasara travel period

Bengaluru-Bidar special trains will run on four dates during the Dasara travel period to handle additional passenger demand, according to an announcement reported by Prajavani. The services will operate between Bengaluru Cantonment and Bidar on October 9, 10, 16 and 17, 2026.

Train number 06589, the Bengaluru Cantonment-Bidar special, will depart from Bengaluru Cantonment at 11 pm on October 9 and October 16. It will reach Bidar at 2.15 pm the following day, providing an overnight connection for passengers travelling towards northern Karnataka.

The return service, train number 06590, will leave Bidar at 4 pm on October 10 and October 17. It is scheduled to arrive at Bengaluru Cantonment at 9.45 am the next morning.

The services have been arranged by the Solapur railway division to manage the expected increase in passenger traffic during the Dasara festival period. The additional trains create travel capacity on a route connecting Bengaluru with Bidar and several stations across Karnataka, Telangana-border areas and Andhra Pradesh-linked railway corridors.

According to the announcement, the trains will stop at Humnabad, Kalaburagi, Shahabad, Wadi, Yadgir, Krishna, Raichur, Mantralayam Road, Adoni, Guntakal, Anantapur, Dharmavaram, Hindupur and Yelahanka. Bengaluru Cantonment and Bidar will serve as the originating and terminating stations for the special services.

Each train will have one AC two-tier coach, three AC three-tier coaches, 10 sleeper-class coaches, three general second-class coaches and two luggage-cum-brake vans. The composition provides a mix of reserved air-conditioned, sleeper and general seating options, although availability will depend on bookings for each service.

Passengers can reserve tickets through the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation website, www.irctc.co.in, and the RailOne application, the announcement said. The services are scheduled specifically around the October 9-17 period, when festival-related movement is expected to place additional pressure on regular railway capacity.

The announcement does not provide details of fares, platform assignments or any changes to the scheduled timings. Passengers using the special trains will need to check the latest availability and operational information through the official booking and railway channels before travel.
