Delhi Police have intensified security preparations across the capital ahead of a proposed October 10 protest involving CJP, Left groups and AAP’s student outfits, reaching out to resident welfare associations, religious representatives, market bodies and young people to prevent disruptions to public order.

According to a report by the Times of India, police personnel are contacting residents, students and other young people and advising them not to participate in activities that could lead to a law-and-order situation. Teams have also approached market welfare associations, resident welfare associations and Aman committees in different parts of the city.

The outreach has been extended to religious places and their representatives. Authorities have asked these local representatives to cooperate with the police, counsel residents and discourage activities that could create tension around the proposed mobilisation.

The preparations show how Delhi’s security response is extending beyond deployment at protest sites. Police are using existing neighbourhood and community networks to identify possible gatherings, circulate appeals for restraint and maintain contact with local representatives before the event. The reported involvement of RWAs, market associations and religious institutions places civic intermediaries at the centre of the preventive policing effort.

Police have also increased checks at hotels, where officers are reportedly tracking last-minute bookings. Railway stations and other transit points are under watch, with personnel approaching groups found gathering at these locations to ask about their plans. These measures could affect how authorities manage movement through some of the capital’s busiest public spaces as the protest date approaches.

Officials have identified around 10 to 15 social media channels allegedly involved in circulating fake artificial intelligence-generated content, the report said. Police are also monitoring users who repost such material, particularly where repeated circulation could increase its reach or contribute to mobilisation around sensitive locations.

Authorities have described the outreach and surveillance as preventive measures intended to avoid tension and disruption. Personnel have been instructed to remain in contact with local representatives and stay alert to developments ahead of the proposed protest.

Security arrangements remain heightened across Delhi, with additional personnel being deployed at sensitive locations and key points. The police response is focused on monitoring gatherings, checking possible movement into the city and maintaining public order before October 10.
