The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has issued letters of intent to 25 companies planning manufacturing units in Yamuna City, with about 95 acres of land to be allocated across five sectors and proposed investment of nearly ₹3,155 crore.
The companies are from the medical devices, pharmaceuticals, textiles, apparel, handicrafts and related manufacturing sectors. According to the report, the proposed units could create employment opportunities for more than 9,000 people and expand the industrial base of the planned city in Uttar Pradesh.
A YEIDA official said the letters of intent were issued together on Wednesday for the 25 industrial units. The land-allocation process has now begun, with the proposed companies expected to manufacture medical devices, pharmaceutical products, handicrafts, apparel and other goods.
The announcement adds to a broader industrial-development programme in Yamuna City, where more than 3,000 units have already been allotted land, according to the report. Around 35 of these units have started production. The latest allotments are expected to increase activity in sectors identified for specialised industrial parks.
Medical device, handicraft and apparel parks have already been proposed in the area. The report said that up to 90% of plots in these parks have been allotted. The new units are therefore being planned within an industrial framework that is already seeing land allocations and early production activity, rather than as isolated projects.
The proposed investment is concentrated in sectors linked to manufacturing demand, particularly healthcare-related production and textiles. For Yamuna City, the allocation process also indicates an attempt to connect industrial expansion with employment generation and local production capacity. However, the letters of intent represent the current stage of the process; the report does not provide individual company names, construction schedules or production start dates.
YEIDA is also preparing for the development of a semiconductor and electronics park described in the report as the first of its kind in North India. Its foundation stone has already been laid, and construction is expected to begin soon, according to the report.
The next formal step for the 25 companies is the allocation of the proposed 95 acres across five sectors. The report does not specify the individual plot sizes or the timeline by which the units are expected to begin construction or production.
